depends on your class

Ok so I purchased this book as recommend by my instructor to assist with my masters level intro to epidemiology class. It is a good work book but I will list mostly cons. So first if your instructor recomends this book, wait until class starts to buy it. Find out if the instructor will be assigning work out of it first, or using it merely as a resource self study guide. Also see if it matches up with the Epi text you will be using. Many people in my class complained that this book did not go along with the book we were using. It often introduced concepts that we were not studying so you had to know to skip them. Also the terminology in epidemiology can be crazy confusing and there can be 6 terms for one thing and this book can add another. Often cocepts in this book were taught with different terms than what we used. Also I did not like how the answers are listed right below the problem. No work is shown either so if you were really stuck you could spend a good amount of time trying to figure it out.

I had to use this book for my last class and found it very helpful for studying. The professor actually gave us the wrong syllabus and I purchased this book which was not required. But the way it is organized and designed was still very useful for helping me learn the required materials and terminologies.
