About the Author
Franz Alexander was director of the Department of Psychiatry at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Los Angeles, and professor of psychiatry at the University of Southern California. Easy read, well written.

A seminal work - a must read for a dynamically oriented therapist who values knowing the origin and development of their orientation. There is a reason this book is so regularly cited, it was far beyond its time and implies many ideas that are just starting to be researched or written about in the past couple decades. A nice children's picture book, NOT by Papini.

This is a nice, large print CHILDREN'S picture book, about the life of Christ, with no single author credited. It is a British edition, in no way connected to anything Giovanni Papini wrote. Papini's is a 450 page novelized biography of Christ, with no illustrations, decidedly for an adult audience, translated into English from Italian in 1923. The above title, as nice as it is, is listed incorrectly, and has nothing to do with Papini or his novel, and should be listed as a children's book.

This book is old 1920's but is very poetic and puts into terms we can readily understand what Christ did for us. The Nativity is very moving and is always a holiday addition to our celebrations. For those that appreciate the holiday for the true meaning it is a moving explanation of the birth in the stable.

This book travels through the time that Christ was present in this world. It is a thought-provoking book, the language is beautiful and descriptive. I suggest spending the money for the copy to add to your library.

I remember purchasing this title about some twenty years ago. As i read the book i was amazed by the truthfulness of its author. He wrote with such clarity and unbiased words. I awe-struck and enjoyed every page written...that was some twenty
years ago. To date, i am still awe-struck as i read this precious copy of what i
throught was a lost book and forgotten author..but i was again blessed by my faith
in God as He opened up a door for me to receive this copy of such a well written and
marvelous story of the Life of Christ.i beleive that every student of biblical studies and pastor of various congregations should have such a book in his or her
library...a treasure that will last for sometime in the hearts and minds of its readers. it has the power of the holy spirit of move beyond one's often closed mind-set and allow them to enter into the reality of the birth of Christ and the first place he laid...in a manager.....one that we often never attribute to his laying nor the very environment that he was born in. from the striking reality of his environmental birth place, to the richness of his death on the cross, to the human touch into the lives of so many of his Father's creation in human-kind. this book
has found a forever place in my heart and among the many books of my blessed library. how i am glad that i finally found, by faith and pray, what i had sought God for, for so many years. thank amazonbooks...more so thank u Father.

About the Author
Rose Williams has taught Caesar for over thirty years in college and high school. She has authored over twenty books and maintains a popular website, www.roserwilliams.com. She is coauthor of A Caesar Workbook (Bolchazy-Carducci, 2012). Williams holds a BA from Baylor University and an MA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and did postgraduate work in Latin and the humanities at the University of Dallas and the University of Texas at Arlington. On a Rockefeller Grant, Williams did research at the Bodleian Library of Oxford University and at the University of Pisa, Italy. Hans-Friedrich Mueller, PhD, is the William D. Williams Professor of Classics and the Classics Chair at Union College in New York. He received a 2007 APA Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Classics and two Florida State awards for excellence in teaching. Dr. Mueller has published Roman Religion in Valerius Maximus (Routledge, 2002) as well as numerous articles. More than just a cookbook!

This is a cookbook with a difference - as well as pages of enticing recipes this book gives a great insight into all that is this unique place! Makes you want to jump on the next plane to NO and savour all the delights it has to offer! I literally could not put this book down the first night I got it. Look forward to working my way through these tasty pages of pure indulgence. Us Europeans could learn alot from worshipping a Bible like this :) Highly Recommended! Well done Mr. Elie. Look forward to more from you.

Fried Chicken, Gumbo and More!

First, I must confess that Mr. Elie has been a very dear friend for over 30 years, so this review is not without its biases. Second, I must also confess that he is one of the best cooks I know personally, and has chosen recipes for this cookbook that will satisfy the most demanding palates.

I have not only read the book and enjoyed it tremendously, but was also in New Orleans to taste the Korean chicken dish created by Chef Jackie (Jacqueline Blanchard, Executive Sous Chef at Restaurant August). Oops! I'm not sure I was supposed to give that secret away. Well, if you purchase the book and read it you will be given the impression that the recipes were created by the characters. But the truth is, the recipes are all from world class chefs like Chef Jackie in N.O., and people who have set the standard for New Orleans cuisine in their home kitchens. This really was the best chicken I have ever had in my entire life and was so light and crispy it could have flew off of plate and taken flight into fried chicken heaven. What a treat that was.

Another inside secret I will share is that Lolis got the Gumbo recipe from his mother. I hope he doesn't read this review, but I just couldn't keep that one to myself. I had the opportunity to have his mother's Gumbo just last month and what an experience that was. She is a living Gumbo legend!

So that's a bit of the inside scoop on the cook book. Bottom line is you can't go wrong for the recipes, and if you enjoy a good read, you will enjoy this one.

So now the pitch for my friend Lolis, which includes my bias. Buy a book for yourself and ten more as Christmas gifts. It may not be the best thing if you have a heart condition, but it will most certainly increase the happiness quotient of us mere Earthlings!

this is what I like about the series

The history, food, and music are what draw me to New Orleans. This covers two of the topics in a well executed manner. This is one of the books that sits out, not buried in the shelf.
